Short stories will be read by Laraine Newman, (original SNL cast member and sister of Tracy Newman/aunt of Charlotte Dean,) Lynne Stewart (Always Sunny in Philedelphia and Miss Yvonne from Pee Wee Herman Show, Tim Bagley (Grace, Monk and $#*! My Dad Says,) Jordan Black (Bridesmaids, For Your Consideration,) Jonathan Stark (Tracy Newman’s former TV writing partner,) Jeremy Rowley (iCarly, Modern Family, current Groundling,) and Bridget Sienna (so very funny.)
Six talented actors will read author and writer, Charlotte Dean’s short fiction in “Charlotte’s Shorts.” The one-hour comedy show is directed by mother and daughter team, Charlotte Dean and Emmy award winning writer, Tracy Newman.
Friday May 2nd and Saturday May 3rd at 8 pm and on Sunday May 4th at 3pm, Theatre Banshee in Burbank, CA.

Charlotte Dean is an artist, author and writer with comedy chops in her DNA. Her mother (pictured above) is Emmy Award-winning TV writer Tracy Newman, and her aunt is none other than the original SNL cast member, Laraine Newman.
Charlotte Dean’s father is a comedic actor and artist, named James Dean!
Charlotte Dean graduated from the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts and in 2012 received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Summa Cum Laude.
Dean is the author and illustrator of two children’s books, “My Crazy Baby Brother” and “My Crazy Baby Brother Just Won’t Grow.” Her short stories can be found in her blog, Charlottedean.wordpress.com. Her award-winning art landed her a win for Seattle Met magazine’s 2011 “Picture Perfect Moments” contest for her painting “Being in the Water.” She won a one-week, all expenses paid for, trip to Hawaii! Her work has been featured in galleries throughout Seattle, Mexico and Los Angeles.
